Hi all,

I'm new to 3D drawing in AutoCAD. I do this work mostly with SketchUp. But I need to convert a set of 3D polyface meshes (generated from Sketchup) into a solid made up of only boxes, wedges and pyramids. I need this output for a FEM program that only accepts these solid types. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this and can offer suggestions.

I'm thinking pyramids would probably be the best type, but for the geometry I have, doing this by hand will take decades.

I have uploaded the skp, dxf, and dwg files to here:

hxxp://members.shaw.ca/stillife/tower.dxf

hxxp://members.shaw.ca/stillife/tower.skp

(I couldn't upload them for some reason)

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Jon
