Window Man Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 How do I use massprop command for a double hollow aluminum extrusion? Quote
SLW210 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Select the item after Tools>Inquiry>Region/Mass Properties. What exactly do you need to know? Quote
fuccaro Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 If your part is modelled as solid you can use the MASSPROP to calculate the weight. It doesn't count the shape of the solid, it can have as many holes as you wish. With the command you can find out the volume. Multiply it with the density and you have the mass. Quote
SLW210 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 If it is a solid the hollows should be subtracted. Perhaps you could post your DWG or a screen shot so I can see what we are talking about. Quote
Window Man Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 drawing attached I think CWTUBE INCH.dwg Quote
SLW210 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Ok, that helped. You need to make that a _Region. Make the outside portion a _Region and the inside portions _Region and _Subtract the inside Regions from the outside Region. Quote
