Jfennell Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hello All, I am inquiring about an issue in CAD or i guess i should say, a function in CAD that i would like to utilize. I have noticed on many sets of drawings that i have seen, there is sometimes in a corner a date and filename. I have been told that there is a way to have this automatically update on the drawing. I never really had a use for this function until recently. I am not sure if it is a VB function or a dynamic block, however, it would be nice to use at this time. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. i am using AutoCAD 2010 Quote
fuccaro Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 See the PLOTSTAMP option in the Plot window. If that's not enough for you, explore the FIELDS -see the help file or even the previous posts in this forum. Add a field to your template and AutoCAD will take care to insert the updated info in all your drawings. Quote
Jfennell Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Wow all this time that i have been using CAD and plotting drawings and i never even noticed the plotstamp option, and i am usually a pretty curious user always trying to see "what does this do" but that one escaped me. thank you very much Quote
Grigs Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Or, you can place a permanent RTEXT field in your titleblock that has all that information. Then people don't have to remember to turn the plot stamp feature on when plotting. Quote
