shift1313 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 When using the Screen Capture/Record Video which records an .avi file of your workspace, is there a way to show your tool bars or tabs in the videos? thanks Quote
uddfl Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I make the window smaller (restore down, not maximized) Quote
shift1313 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 does it show your toolbars then? mine are there when recording but do not show up in the avi file. do yours? Quote
uddfl Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I'm so sorry, I don't think I use the same recording device as you. I use a 3rd party recorder to which you can specify the size of the screen. Quote
shift1313 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 thats alright. There is one built into SW that I have been using but i just recently found it. Ive looked through the options for the system and couldnt find anything for screen capture settings. Quote
tzframpton Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 what are you using to record your screen? Quote
shift1313 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 in SW 09s built in screen capture. because of file size i cant seem to get any zip files below 250k but here is one i uploaded. http://filebox.vt.edu/users/maperez/telephone2.zip http://filebox.vt.edu/users/maperez/telephone.zip View>ScreenCapture>RecordVideo Quote
tzframpton Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Windows Media Encoder v9 lets you do it and for free. If you wanna spend money then Camtasia is the best out. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 ... i cant seem to get any zip files below 250k You have a lot of empty space left and right of your image. I would Restore Down the graphics window fairly small and make sure your image fills up the available space. I haven't checked in SWx, but in Inventor there is also an option to save out as individual slides. I then combine some of those slides in a free GIF Animator software. Surprisingly few slides can be used to create a nice GIF Animation. I would probably use 4 slides for the avi animation you linked. Quote
shift1313 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 i tried resizing the window with no change. I can specify the screen size if i use the photoworks render engine but every time i move the model it "renders" so its not real efficient. I can specify the compression software i want to use, quality and frames per second. the one i posted above i think were 7.5 frames/sec. I dont really have any need for this type of thing but i figure its a nice tool(if the video showed the tool bars) to use as a teaching aid for when users ask questions or have questions. Quote
