MrZamn Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Sorry for the re-post if this has already been done. I am pressed for time and I have some AutoCad files that need editing. These table are Excel 97-2003 spreadsheets, and I do not have the original location of the files. Is there anyway to edit contents, or is more information needed to get an answer on editing. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help. MrZ Quote
GhostRider Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I might not understand your question, but if the speradsheet is in the drawing as an OLE object you can double click on the edge of the spreadsheet and it will launch excel and allow you to edit and update it. You probably mean something else though... Quote
MrZamn Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 that helps Ghost!! I'll let you know. thanks for working with the n00b Quote
MrZamn Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Unfortunately, it keeps saying "failed to launch server application" Quote
N_461 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 did you ever find a sloution? Im having the same problem... Quote
rustysilo Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 You are using AutoCAD LT? I don't know if that supports this operation. If you select it, does your right-click menu have any viable options? Quote
N_461 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I am in 2007 full CAD program. i have all OLE options, when I go to open/edit the OLE the error pops up (same as above). Quote
rustysilo Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 When you say "I do not have the original location of the files" do you mean you don't have the original files or you just don't know where they are at? Quote
N_461 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 thats the other person. i dont think they're using this thread (2007). Im having the same pissue though. all files are on my pc. I can insert an OLE but can't double click it or shortcut menu it to edit it. I get the same error. no clue. Quote
askrius Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 It was pasted in as a link right? Seems as if this were the problem with a drawing my coworker was given. If the OleItemType is set to acOTEmbedded it works fine. I cannot seem to change (via VBA) the OleItemType no matter what I do, even issuing an Update() to the entity post-value-change. Any ideas on this? Yeah, I know it should be in the VBA/LISP area...but still.... Quote
N_461 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Still nothing works...to explain better: we use Excel to create tables and literally copy and paste them into AutoCAD. If i were to double click or open the OLE it would proceed to launch Excel. Well, one day i leaned fwd on my keyboard and since then it hasn't worked properly. I get the error message that simply says "failure to launch server application." I also lost my "drag & drop capabilities in Outlook????? I have no clue, neither does our IT guy. hopefully someone somewhere can help. it is VERY annoying. Quote
