I'm having some issues with my zoom and pan slowing down and acting jerky on certain drawings where I have a lot of blocks. It's odd because my computer has a good amount of additional memory. Any ideas about what this could be?

Have you tried running an AUDIT on these drawings to see if they contain any errors?

2nd here I have several viewports set up for a 3d element(s) it is taking forever to pan and zoom around the drawing in paper space

I've got 1gb ram and run v2007 plain old autocad

128mb nivida video card

I messed around with all of the settings I can including using a "borrowed" 256mb card from another machine

pumped up the ram to 2gb set regen to manual only toggled the view ports from realistic to 3d wire frame and run audits nothing seems to work

am I missing something

Can you list your full computer specs?

What operating system and what kind of processor?

What are the full specs of the graphics card?

You say you added another 1GB RAM, so now you have 2GB?

What is the drawing file size and how complex is the model?

A

1.xp server all service paks upto date

2. pentium 4 (3.6 ghz)

3.nivida fx 1400 128mb x16 irq

4. still 1gb ram (chip set where not compatable)

5. dwg size is +/- 5.0mb

6. complexity is pretty straight forward I dont have any strange xrefs/imagery imbeded nor are the solids complex in nature- steel I beam (3d extruded)

sitting on the top of a 3d foundation wall-the obeject of the exercize was to show the contractor in exacting detail how to position a pre-assembled steel stucture over a poured concrete foundation wall. I did that by drafting the 3d foundation in model space then pushed a number of views in paper/layout showing the corners of the stucture
