Aftertouch Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi all, i got a drawing that is made out of multiple XREF's. Due to the size of the project, i want to use all XREF's to make a new 'overview' block of the project so i can show the paper-numbers on them. Most part i got working... I can bind/insert all XREFS, merge to a block and manipulate all i want... but.... When i insert the XREF's, they arent XREFS anymore.... i tried to abuse the 'undo' function, but that doesnt seem to work either. So im looking for a way to insert alle XREF content in my active drawing, that keeps the XREF's as they are. OR.. when i bind all XREFs, an option to 'undo' the bind command, but keep the data in the DWG. A mass NCOPY of some sort? Im stuck here... or maybe overthinking... please help. Quote
SLW210 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Do a SaveAs and Bind everything in the new drawing, original will still have the xrefs. Create a list of the xrefs then after binding them reattach as xrefs. Quote
BIGAL Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Just an idea why not plot the overview to pdf then just import that pdf and draw your sheet numbers over the top of the pdf. I would hope smaller size than binding the original Xrefs. See attached, this is part of make layouts the sheets are numbered. I think its what your trying to show. I would create all the rectangs, make the layouts then move the rectangs over the top of the pdf. Draw rectangs.mp4 Quote
