studiorat Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 I AM ON A DWG. THAT I NEED TO MAKE STRIP MAPS FROM (oops caps lock) the client sent me a cadd example however My linetypes and layers do not match the examples I need to use the Linetypes and layer set from the example how do I import the linestyle type and layers into my drawing without having to substitute, and will the layers be the same names after importing with regards to style type and color Quote
rustysilo Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Use the Design Center (ctrl-2) to bring in the things you need. Navigate to the dwg you need items or properties from and simply click and drag or right-click > add to dwg to get it all in. Very simple to do. Quote
hazardman Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 and please do not post the same q over different forums (i noticed you have the same question in the AutoCAD General area)...it gets messy especially when answers get spread between the two... Quote

I AM SORRY BOUT THAT I get carried away as with regard to design ctr I can grab individual line styles such as (ex. sewer ) and drag and drop how about the line library from another dwg. Quote
swi Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I have the same problem For instance I have set the line weights wrong in a series of about 30-40 files and I need to update them from one master file When I double click on the layer style I wish to import I just get this message Command: Layer(s) added. Duplicate definitions will be ignored and colour/line weights do not get updated. Is there any other solution or something I'm not doing correctly? Quote
