lesczynski33 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I am new to this site, i have been using autocad for a little over a year now. I need to put text on the side of a tank drawn in 3d. I searched the site and only found how to make text raised or subtracted from. I need text on the tank that is even to the surface and a different layer or color. Any help please I have a project that i really need to finish and this is the only thing that is holding me up. Thanks, Jason Quote
shinymathew Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 If the tank is with rectangular face, make the ucs align with the face where you want to write. Use text command. If you want thickness and colour to be seen while rendering, text should be created with closed plines end extruded to the required thickness. If the tank have curved surface extrusion and subtraction seems to be the option. Quote

lesczynski33 Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 I got it now I did not know that you could color the faces of an imprinted object such as text, I thought that it became part of the object and could not be edited or changed. Thank you all for all the help. Quote
