lab Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for drawing a metal deck in section. Right now, it's a huge pain because I need to draw a pline and constantly add sections to it and trim it, etc. Ideally, it would be a simple linetype, but I have no idea how to do this or if it's even possible. hazardman Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 a linetype, i believe, is not the way to go because it is dependant on the ltscale--it drive me crazzy when i get drawings using a batt linetype becasue of the same problem ...if you change the ltscale so will your profile change scale to suit... what you can do is create a flute as a pline then array it for quite a long distance...then use the pedit command to join them all into a single continuous deck...then you can copy this around and trim it to suit... what i've aslo done in the past was to create a 4'-0" section and turned it inot a block...then i could array that, explode the last one for trimming or xclip the block... now there could be a lisp routine written to do all this with a user specified length but you'll have to ask the guru's here to help you with that and/or find one already made... and fortunately for me a routine is already built into ADT/Architecture to do this (but i don't think it's lisp) ...
