We work in decimal in shop but are sometimes converting to fractional for field use simply by editing dimstyle on existing decimal drawing.

Unfortunately this kind of conversions lead to discrepancies.

Is there a better way of converting.

Attached is simplified capture of the process, all the lines were drawn with an input length of 9.96.

If you look at this it shows what the precision of your dim style will display. so rounding will occur, did you set DIM Precision to "0' - 0 1/16"

(rtos 9.96 4 4)
"9 15/16\""
: (rtos 9.96 4 5)
"9 31/32\""
: (rtos 9.96 4 6)
"9 61/64\""

BIGAL, you are correct and I'm aware of this. I'm sure this is not the worst possible case.A gain/loss of 1/16 is  too much .

What I was trying to see is how Autocad would handle this situation .
