Can't get command line at top of screen on any drawing

Using 2012. Was inputting text. Drawing went to a thin line, then 3D. Wasnt trying to use 3D. Wouldnt go back to 2D. Shut down and restarted. Now cant get command line at top of screen. Drawing I was doing comes up without command line. Cant get command line at top of screen on any drawing.

Computer specifications, OS, graphics card and driver?

 

Multiple monitors?

 

Can you post some screen shots?

 

I don't believe AutoCAD 2012 had reset settings to default, you may have to run a repair.

 

Ctrl+9, type COMMANDLINE, or go to Tools > Command Line. If it keeps disappearing, check if the Auto Hide option is enabled and disable it.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "Drawing went to a thin line"? The viewport containing your linework, or the entire AutoCAD window, or something else?

Could he be viewing his drawing in 3D and not realize it?

The issue is "Can't get command line at top of screen on any drawing. "

 

No mention of the drawing still stuck in 3D mode.
