Luke P Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Hi all, I am in the early stages of developing (vibe coding) something I have been thinking about for a minute: a videogame where you CAD. It's called CADcade and I've got a whole vision for it and everything. Right now it's just some beginner lessons, a sandbox mode, and an arcade mode with 36 drafting challenges of varying difficulties. It runs in your computer browser, and one of the goals is to help students and beginners learn the basics of navigating CAD products and spatial thinking for free online. This is kind of a demo of it that I would like to get feedback on (not selling or monetizing anything). I just wanted to share it here and see what you guys think. How does it feel? Ai slop? Not enough commands? Dumb concept? Every reply helps. cadcade.net Thank you! 2 Quote

SLW210 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I need to get my grandkids on there and see what they think. They have played around with AutoCAD some, I'm not sure why, but they like to draw stuff and hatch it. Quote
CADhomie Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I've been developing CADstart, a browser-based 2D CAD learning platform, so I appreciate what you're trying to accomplish. I like the idea of helping beginners practice through challenges. One thing I'd be interested in is how you're introducing precision, object snaps, and dimensions before students move into more complicated exercises. Wishing you success with the project. Quote
BIGAL Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago (edited) If your old like me then you would know in the days when software came in a big box with a CD and paper manuals. There was at one stage a learn Autocad CD that got you to do lessons. It would check what you had drawn, I had one but not sure where it is now would have to put on a USB as no DVD/cd player in my laptop. Of course the paper manuals were so much easier to look how to do things in CAD, still have that manual. Edited 39 minutes ago by BIGAL Quote
