dswinty
I am using 2007 and cannot seem to select some text items. Happens in mt and dt in existing drawings. Anyone run into this before?
ZenCad1960
Give a little more background... What layer are they on? Are they on the defpoint layer? If so is the 0 layer turned off or frozen. That could be one cause.
dswinty
They are on a separate text layer and pickfirst is on 1. All layers are on and not frozen. None of the selection commands or picks works on this text.
Guest Alan Cullen
Could you post a section of the drawing so we can have a bit of a play with it.
ZenCad1960
the next guess is: is the text in model space, and you are in paper space looking at the text through a viewport? If you can post the example we can find out more!
dswinty
Here is the drawing. Said text is on the left in model space. Left it there to get it out of the way. Hopefully it is still in the same condition after uploading. I appreciate the help! 001 SUPER SUPPLEMENTS.dwg

ZenCad1960
If they are it, I can select, edit delete and move them no worries. If these are not it, please let me know where they are so I can find them.
dswinty
Those were the ones. Must be something with my computer and not the cad. Thanks again, I will try some other ideas.
ZenCad1960
I deleted just one of the lines of text, purged and audited the file. See if you can delete the other line.

Guest Alan Cullen
I could select everything, too. Just a suggestion, I think you should lock your viewport.
lcurle
go to your layer manager and change the color of the text, it will unlock and you can delete the text you dont want
TJ-13
ZenCAD, I've come across this error as well. If you get rid of / explode all of your tables, you will be able to select the text again. Don't ask me why... but something about the tables is the cause of the problem.
NAILER20
go to your layer manager and change the color of the text, it will unlock and you can delete the text you dont want you are spot on about changing color of text w/in layer manager Q why does this happen in 1st place seems every release is getting buggier and buggier and why is adesk impossible to find any help with these kind of glitches better yet fix em when they are discovered sorry now ranting but thanks again about work around

Don't ask me why... but something about the tables is the cause of the problem. V2k2 had paste special %%product entites not perfect but worked better than table feature in 2007-Acad lays down vectors Word processes words excell processes data Acad should keep it like that. I imported table data form excel and it locked up random text elements in drawing on top of having to do a lot of tweaking of imported table to get it formated right i'm not against change and improvements and v2k7 is great but why not just keep features from say previous major release and then include the new stuff
Grigs
I have had issues with being able to highlight text. What I have to do is, while in model space, hit ctrl-A and select everything then hit the delete key and immediately do an undo.
testov
Try from menu View-> Visual Styles -> 3D Wireframe (copy and paste text and then return again to 2D Wireframe - the new copy must be OK)
