Using Expressions with Action Parameters

Recommended Posts

So, there's no way, that I've found to use expressions with Action parameters... is there a way?

I've tried using Constraint parameters, but they mess up my block.

Basically, what I'd like to do, is have the block tell me the distance between point A and point B, also the distance between point B and point C. I have accomplished this with action parameters, what would be really nice, is if it told me the distance from point A to point C. It seems that it should be easy to just add a User Parameter that uses the expression "pull1 + pull2" but this doesn't work. When I punch it in... it tells me "A dependent expression cannot be evaluated." Whatever that means.

Any ideas?

I think this post might be what you are looking for. It explains how to use Fields in a Dynamic block to show a distance that might change because of an Stretch Action.

Or you could just add dimensions to the block and include them in the stretch parameter.

I'll have to try this out... :)
