davidf410 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I AM STARTING TO RENDER THINGS IN INVENTOR. BUT I AM HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THE NEW SURFACES THAT I AM BRINGING INTO INVENTOR. I HAVE A POSTER THAT I NEED TO PUT INTO A BEDROOM. I COPY THE BMP AND PUT IT INTO THE SURFACES THEN I GO BACK TO INVENTOR AND CREATE A NEW STYLE. WHEN I PLACE THE STYLE ONTO THE SURFACE WHERE THE POSTER GOES THE SURFACE IS SEPARATED INTO 4 QUADRANTS. MEANING THAT THE POSTER I WANT TO PUT INTO THE RENDER COMES UP AS 4 POSTERS WITH LINES DIVIDING THE SURFACE INTO 4 EQUAL PARTS. HAVE DO I GET RID OF THE DIVISION OF THE SURFACE AND GET MY POSTER TO COME UP AND COVER THE WHOLE SURFACE? Quote
ReMark Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Just a suggestion here David. Try to avoid using all caps when typing. Thanks. Quote
davidf410 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 That was not necessary. All Caps is considered shouting. Quote
ReMark Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Thank you David for your insightful comments. That aside, it's just considered good etiquette in just about any worthwhile forum one participates in. No insult was implied on my part. Quote
shift1313 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 to answer your question, its a problem with the sample size of your material. Quote
davidf410 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 so how do i change the size? thank you for your help. Quote
davidf410 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 Sorry about the comment it sounded like you were saying it in an arrogant way. at work i type in all caps and i did not take the cap lock off. i realized it after i was done typing and did not feel like changing it. Quote
ReMark Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Apology accepted. Just keep in mind there may very well be people here who subscribe to a lifestyle different than yours and mine. There is no call for harassing anyone or making derogatory comments. Many of us come here and voluntarily give of our time, effort and knowledge without regards to race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preferences, lifestyle, choice of career, etc. It's a CAD community and not a haven for intolerance. There are other forums that cater to that kind of mind set. That said, in the spirit of friendship and helpfulness, I would also suggest that if you haven't already done so, become a member of the AutoDesk Users Group International, membership is free, and take advantage of the forums and all the other worthwhile content and features you'll find at their website. There is even an AutoDesk Inventor's forum that may prove quite useful to you as well. A link to get you started: www.augi.com I hope you continue your participation here at CADTutor and look forward to viewing examples of your work. Regards, ReMark Quote
shift1313 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 ill have to open inventor and give it a shot because i dont know off hand. My computer has been tied up doing flow analysis for a few hours and opening inventor would throw a wrench in the works:) but ill check it out some time today. Quote
shift1313 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 here is a screen shot of my surface styles window. This is what inventor 10-11 look like. Im not sure if 2008 follows the same convention but it should be similar. The scale and rotation slider bars are what you would use. If 100% only covers 1/4 of it try 200%. The preview should be a good indication. I havent done this in inventor before but the layout is the same in other autodesk products. Quote
