emailing drgs containing file references

Hi All, i have been creating drawings with raster design. When i look at the file references the drawing is made up of the following

1 - the autocad drawing

2 - the tiff image i have loaded

3 - a new image which has been created when i modified the laoded tiff.

I want to send the drawing to a customer electronically. My question is this. If when i open up the drawing i want to send, the drawing is made up of another 2 tiff images stored on my local hard drive, how do i attach these images so the customer opens the drawing correctly?

I tried the bind command but it comes up with no references to bind

Thanks for any replies

Neil:

Tried both bind and embed, without success.

I too would like to send the image with the *.dwg file.

Keep me up to date if you find a solution.

I'm just a dummy, plain plan views and elevation views. Too much board time I guess. :?

use 'etransmit' command.

it will bundle up everything attched to the file & also the required font files & ctb if used any in a zip folder ready to send.

Just tried INSERTOBJ ~ worked great.

Once the image(s) were in the *.dwg file, and sized, turned off, under modify image, frame.

The image I had to (or perhaps not) save to a *.bmp, used M$'s Paint. Simple enough.

I checked the image manager, no files there.

Emailed the *.dwg to myself, opened and there were the images in the file without any other attached files, no Zip, nada, nothing. Excellent! :geek:

Ive sent the drawings to my customer with the embed command and and asked him to check if everything opens correctly. I have also emailed the drgs to myself (and changed the location of folders where the images are stored on my hard drive) and the drawings open up fine.

The only command i have used is embed.

I'll let you know if the drawings are ok at the customers end.
