myself Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Hello everybody, lets imagine that you have a drawing with different layers and many linetypes, then you save that drawing and call it as xref to other drawings, until now just perfect with all the lines and layers correct, but then later you go to your first drawing and change the linetype or the color of some layers, here is where all my problems star, that information is not updated on any of your other drawings that were using your original one as xref. Any ideas to solve that in order to change everything as you have on your original instead of having to recall the reference to all the other ones? thank you very much guys Quote

myself Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 Well, thank you for your help, and that works just fine with a little problem, i would like to be able to set a layer from a xref as on or off independently of that variable, i mean... i would like to change all the options within a layer except the visibility. i believe that this will not work the way i want, but its always worth the question. P.S-Sorry for not trying to find that information that was already available. Quote
tzframpton Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Yeah I guess I'm not quite understanding the question after all. Quote
Chewingyu1 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I think I understand what myself (odd username) is trying to say. He would like to be able to turn the layer on or off in the main file without automatically causing the same layer in the other drawing files to (which this file is being referenced to) to be turned on/off. Is this possible? Quote
