Removing Xref Name from Layer Name

Recommended Posts

We have a bunch of drawings that were bound. When you bind the drawings it adds the xref name to the layer name. Is there a lisp that will remove the xref name and combine multiple layers with the same name?

Try this, works on more than layer names though, read the header. If there are already layers with the same name as the bound layers, they won't be renamed.

I can't take credit; thanks to the unknown author

to avoid these steps in future projects, use bind>insert option while binding x-ref's & than you can explode it if you don't like it as block. but by suing 'insert' option it will murge x-ref's layers with current drawings similar named layers.

Dipali I am well aware of Bind Insert. The problem when you do Bind Insert, is that the detail that is Inserted takes on the Dim/Text perameters of the drawing. So Bind Insert does not work In all cases
