What does this mean??

i once typed DIM in the command line and all i got was as shown above, but i don't know how to use it... can someone explain please?

at the prompt DIM: you can enter things like HOR (for a horizontal dimension) VER (for a vertical dimension), etc.

...Then CTRL+F1 should work (or is it shift???)

I think Dim was kept for legacy reasons, back in the old days of DOS Acad, you had to invoke the dimensioning commands by entering Dim first (dimensioning was sort of like a separate module).
