Orkatec Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Hi I am a self taught Inventor user and recently embarked on an HNC CAD course. In inventor when scaling a drawing 1:1 the printed drawing is the actual size of the component. When using AutoCad, using view ports this alters the size of the printed component. Is there some way to return the view to the correct printed scale. It mayby the case that this is not normally required and am worried about nothing. I only ask because the course asks for drawings in dwf format and if I submit a drawing in say 1:2 scale it will not measure corectly. Thanks James Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 In AutoCAD your objects are drawn full size in model space. Paper space is where you put your titleblock and border. It is also where you create your viewport(s). A viewport is like a window that allows you to see back into model space. The viewport is what is actually scaled. When you plot your layout it is done so at a scale of 1:1. Quote
Orkatec Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 There it is hiding right in front of me "Viewport Scale". AutoCad almost always has a simple solution if you know where to look. Thanks for a speedy reply. James Quote
