troyadamietz Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a CAD dwg of a Grove RT58 (rubber tired crane)? I have been looking all over the place and can't seem to find one. And Thanks all of you. This site has helped me a lot as I am a self taught person and all the information is priceless. Quote
Tankman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Welcome to the forums Troy! Where might you be posting from? PM me with your email address, I have one in 3D AutoCAD 2000 that I can send on over. Quote
Tankman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Here's another piece of equipment you might like for your library. caterpillar_39.dwg Quote
Tankman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I don't know what PM means It is short for "private message". Click on my nickname, Tankman, to view my profile. There you will see, send a message. Although I use ACAD '05 and '07, I always save to AutoCAD 2000. That way, all can open. That includes some of my clients too. Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 I see your profile - but I don't see "send a message" . Sorry - usually just read these, never posted on them before. struggling Quote

Tiger Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I see your profile - but I don't see "send a message" .Sorry - usually just read these, never posted on them before. struggling It is not so strange mate, and you're not doing anything wrong, you don't get access to the PM-system until you have 10 posts or more. This limit was set in place to hinder spammers. Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 I see. So can I just post my email on here? Tiger says I don't have that option yet. Quote

troyadamietz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Well then I'll use an old yahoo account that doesn't get used much. Let's go with troyadamietz at yahoo dot com. That oughta work. Thanks for the patience . Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Did my response disappear? Here it is again, using an old yahoo account. troyadamietz at yahoo dot com Thanks Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 whoops, guess it was there. still on a major learning curve with posting. Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Tankman, Thanks for the dwg, nice job sir. I will be able to use that in the future for some other things, but it's not the exact model that I am looking for. I need the actual Grove RT58 crane for this particular project. But again, Thank You very much for your efforts in helping me out. I will start utilizing this a lot more now that I understand how to use this site. Thanks again. TA Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Contact this guy (George Nichols). His website: http://home.att.net/~george-nichols/ Maybe he has what you are looking for. It will cost you though. Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 I sent him an email. Thanks for the information sir Quote
troyadamietz Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 He doesn't have what I was looking for but offered to produce them for me. I am guessing that is an option that might have to be explored, but was hoping that someone knew of existing DWGs. Thank You for the information on him though, could be useful in the future. Anybody else have any ideas that might get me headed in the right direction? Quote
ReMark Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 CAD drawings of specific equipment can be very tough to come by. You might try the folks over at TurboSquid. They deal primarily in 3D content. I doubt you'll find much in the way of anything you could use in plain AutoCAD. Now if we were talking 3ds Max or Rhino, for instance, then it might be a different story. Quote
Tankman Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Part of your problem Troy, 3D *.dwg files of construction equipment are too large to post in these (and other) forums. An example of a 2D *.dwg, truck mounted crane, is attached. A 3d *.dwg would be well over 1000kb, very large, too large for the forums. Crane_Truck_Mtd.dwg Quote
