I have AutoCAD 2010 installed on my machine, but I just installed 2009 so that I can use ESRI's ArcGIS for AutoCAD (not yet available for 2010). When I open up 2009, I can't see any of the tool palattes or menu options. See the attached images.

Please help!

Thanks for your advice. I think that's on the right track, but I loaded every .cui in the folder that CUILOAD took me to. I now have toolbars everywhere like in older AutoCAD versions, but I don't want these. I'm trying to get the ribbon tabs at the top. I find those much more useful.

When I bring up the Customize User Interface window (CUI), I can see where a new ribbon tab can be created, but none are pre-loaded.

The attached images are of the CUI window, first in 2009, then in 2010. When I installed 2010, all the ribbon tabs shown were already there.

You have a command line right? Have you tried typing in the word RIBBON?

Actually, it doesn't. That toolbar must have already been up. When I type RIBBON, nothing happens

Have you tried changing workspaces?

Can you get to Tools > Options > Profiles tab and see what profile is loaded maybe even do a Reset (button in column on right).

Stubborn little problem isn't it?

OK, let's try this. I found a thread at the AutoDesk Discussion Group that appears similar to yours. The last reply in the link I have provided below is by David Dyche of AutoDesk. He offers three possible solutions. Take a moment, pop over, and read through his post. Think carefully before proceeding. Good luck.

I have to go out for a little while but I'll check back upon my return.

Method 1 did it! I guess there was just something wrong with the ACAD.cui that was in the Application Data. It was about 1/10 of the size of the one that was in the Program Files. When I replaced it and restarted AutoCAD, it was like cranking up a brand new car, everything was perfect!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Praise the Lord and pass the cocktail peanuts. Houston...we no longer have a problem!

I am glad to hear your problem has been resolved and even more so since you did not have to go to methods 2 and 3. Thank you for updating us.

And by the way, you're entirely welcomed.
