HHI Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Hello, I'm trying to combine a set of lines that I've snapped together to form an odd shaped polygon. Any suggestions of how to do this? thanks. Quote
chulse Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 PEDIT > Multiple (select 'yes' if it askes you to make them polylines) JOIN (set a fuzz distance) That should do it! Quote
HHI Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Thanks - I tried that & it didn't form the polylines I had into an object. I'm trying to get it to an object that I can measure the area from. Is there another step? Quote
chulse Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 If you join the lines together as a single pline object (assuming it is closed) it's properties will give you an area. PEDIT > Multiple (select all the lines) > Join (set fuzz distance) ENTER this should join them together (unless they are not coplanar...) Quote
Rebel Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 if it is a closed shape, BOUNDARY works as well, and in my opinion is a bit quicker. Type in BO & hit enter to get there. you can choose whether the shape you create is a region or a pline, click inside your shape then enter, and your shape is created. Only drawback to this I found is the new shape is always created on the 0 of the perpendicular axis to your view Quote
