I can't remember how to set it so when you open Autocad it comes up with a dialog box to choose a file, or a template, etc.

Right now it defaults and opens my QNew file template.

goto options, files tab, template settings and under default template file name for qnew - delete whats in there.

Hope this helps

STARTUP perhaps...

yes, Startup (duh). thank you.

Ugh, he meant the system variable STARTUP.

Type SYSVDLG and look up STARTUP.

I understood what mdbdesign meant Alan... I didn't mean to sound (read) sarcastic. Just acknowledging that I should have figured that out because the answer was in the question.

This just reinforces my Wishlist of Sarcastic fontstyles.... underline, italics, bold, "sarcastic". We're in a world where we're probably writing more than talking now and sarcasm can be lost (or mis-interpreted).
