Manic_d Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Hi Is there a function in AutoCAD that lets you edit the dimensions of an existing object on fly like there is in Vectorworks. I have included an attachment of a vectorworks screen dump to help explain what I'm asking. In the screen dump you can see a Rectangle is already drawn with the measurements of 1800,900 mm. This can be changed in Vectorworks via the dimension property box on the right hand side. Can this sort of thing be performed in AutoCAD? Thank you PS. Thank you to ReMark for his comments in my other thread; I will get back to you soon about your suggestion. Edited June 9, 2011 by Manic_d Grammatical Mistakes, Upload Screen Dump Quote
nestly Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I don't know anything about Vectorworks. Some types of objects can be sized from the Properties Palette, some can't. AutoCAD doesn't have Rectangles per se, only orthogonal polygons, so the answer to your specific example is "no". More recent versions do have Parametric Dimensioning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJOrX8Jn5sc Quote
