Netminder
Thanks for the help, and the humor, for my initial request now I need a follow up. I have drawn a sheet metal part and want to save and export it as a FLAT PATTERN, unfolded .iges or .step file. When I try to save the part in flat format I am only given the .dwg or .dxf capability. When I attempt to rename and save the sheet metal part as a flat pattern I get, “You cannot translate PartXX to this file format in flat pattern edit mode. Would you like to exit flat pattern edit mode and continue saving?” I am trying to get this pattern sent directly to our machine shop’s CNC so we skip the middle man and their redraw of my part. I know there must be a way to save and export this part as a flat pattern. Any suggestions from all of you machinist drafters? I've attempted to attach the file. We'll see if that works. Thanks. JD Mather
Now this bugs an old machinst - you are not fully constraining your Sketch1. You might read this document http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/skillsusa%20university.pdf
rdharvey
Why can't they just work from your dxf?
