Rounded roof with flatted edges?

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and don't know the best way to describe the roof I'm trying to create in AutoCAD 09.

This is essentially 4 (arcs) that meet at a central point. Between the arcs, the roof follows the profile of the arc to the next one, but other than the shape created by the arcs themselves the roof is still relatively square.

I'm relatively new to AutoCAD -- haven't used it in several years -- and I'm building this as a 3D model. I'm a little confused about moving between 2D and 3D and the best way to go aout it.

Rough demensions of the roof are 84" at it's lowest point with a rise of 32".

Here are some reference photos:

Had a tough time in using solids to come up with that.

I hadnt tried out fuccaro's suggestion yet but Using surfaces seems to be the only way to get the shape.

I Used edgesurf using the profile of the roof.

also used loft but it wasnt too accurate.

see here what I meant:

Draw two cylinders and intersect them.

Cut the result in half keeping only the upper part

Is it close enough what you need?

 Thanks for your comments. You made me a good day!

Looking again at the images: maybe it should start from elliptical cylinders? Or the solid resulted from regular (circular) cylinders should be scaled down in one direction?

Brilliant fix.

I agree, these shouldn't be perfectly round. I think it would be a 84"w x 64"h cylinders with the height cut in half to get the 32" final height!

I'll let you know how it goes once it's in place on the actual model.

As you can see, the cylinder solution was perfect. Now I can keep going on the model!

Note, there's not a ton of detail here because the 3D model is actually for a 1:160 plastic reproduction, so I need to include only what can be manufactured effectively.
