evilsorcerer1
I was watching a tutorial and I added a skin modifier to my mesh but I can't select the bones inside the mesh. When I move the mesh to the side and select the pelvis bone and move it the mesh moves along(not very well, it distorts). But it doesn't work with any of the other bones. What do I need to do to be able to fix those problems?
Cad64
Take a look at this tutorial. Maybe you missed a step while following the tutorial you were watching: http://hw-arts.blogspot.com/2011/11/skin-modifier-in-3ds-max.html
ADSK2007
I am guessing you are applying a skin modifier to a body and skeleton (Biped) - Each bone will only affect certain areas of your model - select the bone that is not behaving correctly then click on "edit envelopes" button check the envelope for that bone and fine tune it until the mesh moves correctly - you will have to do this for every bone that doesn't work well with the surrounding mesh Here is a link to a tutorial that can help you fix your issue Hope that helps Adsk
