Tuns
2010 is cleaner looking, easier to work with, and easier to customize than ACAD 2000.
Tiger
Well, to see the differences up to the latest version, download the trial version from Autodesks homepage and see for yourself. So much has happened that I don't think anyone can list it all. Now, if the question is 'Can I go from 2000 to 2010 and still feel at home and produce drawings?' Hard question, depends on if you want to do it mostly I'd say.

ReMark
Surely you jest when you say "by no means is the list comprehensive"? Your list details everything my list jumped over! Now you have gone and really scared the OP.

Now you have gone and really scared the OP. There is a lot more than that to each release, those are the highlights for me. Going from 2000 to 2014 is a huge jump and I would imagine plotting would be the biggest challenge otherwise it is still just lines and circles. rkent
The OP just decided not to upgrade as it will be time to retire before he learns all the new stuff. LoL ReMark and everyone - I think we should come up with a list of the biggest developments of AutoCAD for the past releases, say r13 to today. This might include things we don't like (Ribbon for some) or things we don't make use of (3D for some). I haven't thought about it a lot but off the top of my head I would nominate: Ribbon Properties Mtext 3D enhancements (I will have to get more specific) Tool palettes Annotative properties multiple layouts Anyone want to add to the list? Perhaps he is already in hospital suffering from a heart attack. I had never realised that so much had happened!

Tuns
You should put a disclaimer there saying, "No actual animals were harmed in the making of this photo." Also I really like the addition of the CUI to AutoCAD... Mostly because I'm on LT but it is very nice to have none the less.
rkent
I am attaching an xls file with a fairly comprehensive list of new features for each release of AutoCAD, enjoy. If you are drawing in 2D there in no big difference between 2000 and 2010. AutoCad 2000 support Vlisp, so you can make anything for 2D drawing. nestly
If you are drawing in 2D there in no big difference between 2000 and 2010 ... and there's no big difference between these two versions either because you can make calls with either
