Annotative text - scalelist to be the same in meter and mm drawing

Hi,

We are working in AutoCAD 2014 with xref's (Civil) mostly in meters and using annotative text. All our details are done in mm and we need to xref the mm drawing into the meter drawing.

How do I set up my scalelist in each meter and mm drawing respectively so that it picks up the correct scaling for the text.

You help will be greatly appreciated

Regards

If you have the option to set the scale (DDUNITS) correctly in each file (i.e. meters and millimetres as appropriate) I'd expect the two to scale themselves to suit automagically from there.

If that isn't the case (and frankly, in the UK at least, I'd not expect it to be!) then you need to define custom annotation scales based on meters being 1000 millimetres (i.e. 1:500 drawn in meters but rendered through millimetres would be 1000:5000).

Thanks, will give it a go, I know it should work but we use Civil 3D for our civil drawings and AutoCAD 2014 for our details and unfortunately Civil 3D drawings are set up in meter

which is causing all the problems. But will let you know what the outcome is. Thanks again for your time and effort.
