Using the decal tool I cant select the surface on where i put the image (the selected one, to let you understand) Thank you for the help Edited June 28, 2016 by coolface man
MarkFlayler
Whats wrong it with it? Showing just an image of an unconsumed sketch doesn't help. What error are you receiving? Are you getting an unexpected result? Does this work on a simplified model?
coolface man
you're right, i'm sorry just updated the post with the details of the issue
MarkFlayler
I assume you are in the assembly environment, you need to be in the part mode for the decal to work.
coolface man
no, it doesn't work even in the part mode :/
MarkFlayler
Is the part proprietary? Can you attach it if not or produce a simple example that shows the issue. Also make sure all your Service Packs and Hotfixes are installed.
coolface man
i'm uploading a video to show the issue clearly. Can i put here the link?
MarkFlayler
I see no reason why not.
coolface man
here it is as you can see there are a couple of faces that i'm not allowed to select for some reason when i'm using the decal comand https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_cTfW8yxW_IMzYyZ3B2SUd6VUU/view?usp=sharing
MarkFlayler
ok, i definitely see what you mean. What feature has built that face you are trying to attach to? What is your Inventor version? Service Packs and Hotfixes installed? Are you in the Part mode when you are doing this video?
coolface man
the face i'm trying to use is created using the chamfer. I'm working on Inventor 2016 and everything is up to date. yes i'm in the part mode
MarkFlayler
Works just find on my system. What is your Inventor build number? Go to About Autodesk Inventor from the little bubble in the upper right.
coolface man
is build
MarkFlayler
Then you are not up to date on your updates. Put the SP in and see if it helps. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-inventor-2016-service-pack-2.html?v=2016 Next time post Inventor version with build number up front instead of having to go back and forth.
