Spucing up plain Elevations & Site Plans

Dear all,

Using Acad 2010/11 only, can anyone tell me the best methods to get a simple line drawing elevation and/or siteplan to look like these examples: Note the car parking is grey with fleck texture, bushes have shadows and elevation has nice sky and stuff. I am aware how to use bring to front / back etc on hatching and screening to lighten colours etc

Looks like something that could be accomplished using SketchUp or AutoDesk Impression.
