ReMark Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 How did you modify it? Have you spoken with this manager about the difficulty you are having? Quote
dirtychinchilla Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 I just made some minor changes like setting it to ISO. Nope, I will do though. My general experience, however, is that you can't dimension a model properly in the paper space. Quote
ReMark Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Your general experience is somewhat...lacking. I do it constantly. As a matter of fact I am detailing a 10,000 gallon tank with 12 nozzles, 2 manways, 4 ladder clips, 4 platform lugs, 3 pipe support lugs, a grounding clip and 6 anchors on three sheets using four different scales for my viewports and everything is fully and accurately dimensioned in my layout while all my geometry sits in model space. dirtychinchilla Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 No need to be insulting. I've been doing this job for about 6 weeks following my degree, so am inexperienced. I'm glad it's working out so well for you. Thanks for the help. Quote
ReMark Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) I was pointing out there is further knowledge to be gained that's all. I suggest you speak with your manager about the pros and cons of annotative scaling and find out what the company standard is for dimensioning drawings. They do have a list of standards don't they? dirtychinchilla Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 If that was indeed the case, then I do apologise. I think we both could do with some sort of annotative language to show sarcasm and jokes haha! I will do, thank you for the suggestion. We don't have a standard as such because there are only two of us in the CAD dept. and it will soon be only me, so no one has established a particular list of standards. We both know which dimstyle to use etc. so it's not strictly necessary, at least not while the department is so small. Quote
