2013 Edit Pulldown Menu Gone

Good morning,

The 'Edit' pulldown menu is missing from my version AutoCAD 2013. Additionally, the commands found in that pulldown are disabled, so 'undo' 'copy' 'paste' and etc are all non functional. The 'View' 'Format' 'Insert' 'Tools' pulldowns are also missing. Everything in the ribbon, also gone.

The problem occurred when CAD froze and I had to restart the computer. CAD was really laggy beforehand. Besides that everything was normal.

I tried repairing and reinstalling with the original disk with the same issues. Do I need to do an uninstall/reinstall? It's not the MENUBAR command, and the CUI command comes up with an error saying it cannot be located. Thoughts?

In all the confusion did you ever try changing or resetting Profiles?

Thankyou! I reset the profiles and the tabs returned. I lost my workspace settings but this is preferable. What mistake did I make and why didn't the edit commands work?

Once you have recreated your WORKSPACE or spaces, make sure you name, lock and save them.

You should also create a PROFILE however you like it, and SAVE that too.

If you run the SYSVDLG command you will be taken to the system variable dialog, where,

for those who use a lot of personalized variable settings it is a good idea to save a .SVF (system variable file),

which makes it easy to restore personalized variable settings, if need be.

There is a button at the bottom of the dialog box to save your settings.
