sikken Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Hi all, i got the following annyoing problem: i got about 150 drawings in 3D, all with dimensions in model. I need to hide those hidden lines when plotting, but when doing so my arrowheads turn hollow! the same thig happens with the font "Verdana". If i change the font to a shx font, that problem is fixed (allthough i would like to use Verdana...) If i do the dimensions in Paper, all is well. But i dont wanna adjust 150 drawings, and doing the dimensions in perspective view in Paper is litteraly killing me... Any ideas? This issue is driving me mental... thx in advance! Sikken Quote
wannabe Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Is it not possible to put them on a layer that does not plot? Quote
Guest Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I have this problem as well, but it looks to me that there is no solution, other than dimensioning in paperspace. Here is a link to my post. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24254 Quote

Sikkken For the dimensions - Adjust the visual style for 3dhidden, under Obscured Edges, Visible > pick Yes, Color > 255. If you are using CTB then adjust pen 255 to a screening of 0%. As for text, this is another reason to stay away from TTF. Dimensioning in PS will not work as it will not give true lengths since in PS you are getting a true iso projection which means it is "not to scale". Quote
sikken Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 Thx for all the replys. Here is the solution as far as i know off: Draw an arrow of 1 mm in size at "0,0,0". Hatch it (or solid, didnt try that one out yet...). Turn it into a block. Go to your dimension settings --> arrow tab --> click the arrowhead dropdownmenu and select " user arrow". Select your block from the dropdownmenu and TADAA --> no more hollow arrowheads when hiding in modelspace ! Give it a try Secretagdan !! Cheers for all the replys ! Sikken Quote
Guest Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That works great. My only problem is that I need to stick with the font style that I have (For the outlined Text.). I don't have so many drawings that I need to do dimensions like that though, the majority of my drawings are SOLDRAW view ports, so that I dont need to hide them. Quote
sikken Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 yeah, TrueFont text remains a pain in the ass... It remains hollow on hide. I have no solution for that one so far. And i dont know much about fonts. I dont even know what the difference is between shx and TF... If you do find a solution, let me know ;-) Quote
