cvriv.charles Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I did some research on steel square tubes. I read that the tubes havea tolerance of +-.1 and that the manufactures are very good at making the minimum. Most likely to save money. Do I model the stated size or the actual size? Quote

And that why they are called dimensional tolerances. Precise control of tolerances in steel forming/cooling is not economically feasible. Unless the demands of a project justify the additional cost then there is no reason to expect absolute perfection. Quote
