Wrapping a ribbon around a box

Hey

 

I need help getting a ribbon-around-a-box effect.

 

 

This is what I have. I want to kind of sweep the yellow rectangle along the white spline (path) but always be perpendicular to the box, so that it's actually wrapping it.

 

If I sweep, the angle changes as it changes direction.

one way to do it is to apply extrude modifier onto your path, than use shell for thickness.

and don't forget to check ''straighten corners'', in shell rollout..

It seems to work fine for the first few segments, but then goes all crazy and no longer wraps the box. What am I doing wrong?
