MisterJingles Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I created a layer for the pipes lying beside a road. I added all the pipes on the drawing to this layer, even including the icon in the legend. The problem is when I turn it off, only the one in the legend disappears. If I click the pipes individually it shows that they are on the correct layer, the same as the one in the legend. How I stumbled onto this is that when I try to plot this drawing in black and white with only these pipes in colour (by editing the ctb file), the green pipes keep plotting in black and white. I have assigned colour 82 to these pipes and in the ctb settings I set colour 82 property to green but it still will not plot the pipes in colour. I would think there is a problem somewhere where I assigned the colour to the layer but when I check it all looks ok. Any idea why this is happening? PS : The red I use for another layer is plotting in colour fine. Quote
profcad Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Are your pipes blocks? If so, they could have been created on a layer other than 0 (Zero). Block with objects on layers other than 0 takes on the properties of the layer they are drawn on. Quote
MisterJingles Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 Yes they are blocks. I tried to add them to the layer I created AFTER I had created the blocks. So this is my problem? What would the solution be? I really need to work on these layers. Quote
profcad Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Since you are using LT, I'm not sure if you have these commands. Use the Block Editor (BEDIT) OR Reference Editor (REFEDIT) and edit the blocks. Change the objects layer to 0 then save the blocks. Quote
