Problems selecting an area to PressPull

Hey. I'm having some problems selecting some areas to Presspull. Sometimes I can't even select an area at all and need to redraw the boundary even tho it seems to be closed.

 

Any hints to help selecting areas?

 

Anything obvious I could be doing wrong? At the moment I'm drawing polyines and arcs and snapping to endpoints to make closed shapes and presspulling the spaces. Most of the problems are when arcs (in the polylines) are involved.

PressPull does not work in all cases if there is interference from another object.

 

Extrude is the alternative since it uses the polyline and not the closed region for selection.

Cheers. Is there a way to extrude polylines and keep the actual polyline? After I extrude polylines, if I want to delete the extruded part, how do I keep the original polyline?

Options >> 3D Modeling >> Deletion control whild creating 3D objects.

 

Select "Retain defining geometry.
