down to personnel preference really, i use Kaspersky which is a good one, i have heard NOD32 is good too. i do not tend to use norton as it tends to be bloat ware.

Personal recommendations aside you can consult PC World magazine and Smart Computing magazine (both available online) for their recommendations as they run reviews of anti-virus software on a yearly basis. It also depends on whether you want to pay for software or want it for free.

I use AVG free and have had no problems.

 

However, I also have MalwareBytes Anti-Malware installed on my computer in case I get infected with scareware, such as Anti-Virus Number-1, which is itself the virus, and will not let you access the internet. MalwareBytes destroys it.

I use AVG, simple clean.

 

I also have Norton on other PC's, seems as stated above "bloated."

 

Try AVG's free antivirus program you might be surprised, pleasantly.
