Windquest
I have just had to buy a new computer that has windows vista on it and when I reinstalled my autocad 2004 on it, it says that "Autocad failed to start because ac1st16.dll was not found" Is there a solution to this peoblem short of spending thousands on a new version of autocad? ReMark
ac1st16.dll should be located in the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AutoDesk Shared
ReMark
Search your hard drive for the file. If found in the wrong location move it. If it is nowhere to be found then either run the Repair option off the installation CD (see if that fixes the problem) or have a friend who also uses 2004 send you a copy of the file.
