Devine Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Hi, If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Ive never had a problem rendering on my home machine (or any other for that matter). No one else uses it, theres 151 gig left free space on the HDD. Today went on to render a model, at the moment it has three maps, maybe 50 objects (max). A sun projection, one light and thats the lot so far, ts along way off from finished. Anyways, ive left it a few days and ive come to play again and have had problems. So loaded cad (08) up, loaded the model, went to render and received "unable to create output file, with the message "make sure the destination directory is writable and that the disc is not full. Rendering aborted." I cant even find the temporary folder for the renders before saving them. Im now on my second can pondering this problem.... its beginning to end me. Please can someone help. pleeeeaaaseee. Thannks in advance. Quote
Devine Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 I have to note aswell this problem is not on every file i choose to render. hmmm I'll try the audit. Again if anyone can help, please doo =) Quote
Cad64 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Your profile says you're using Autocad LT. As far as I know, LT has no 3D capability, so how are you rendering? What are your computer specs, because it sounds like you are trying to render out a high resolution image, but your computer can't handle the settings you have selected. Try adjusting the settings, for a lower quality render, and see if you still have the problem. Quote
Devine Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 Hello, Thanks for the reply, No i should change that, im actually using 08 and 09 full. My machines a quad core 4 gig and to be fair shouldnt really struggle on this. I mean it never has done in the past 6 months. I tried another file, same high spec render settings and no problems. Ive tried the problematic file with the lowest render settings but still to no avail. Its a weird one. Ive even gone to the point of making sure any folder im using are/is NOT ticked "Read only"...again to no avail. I havent tried purging or error/auditing the file. Ill give that a go tongiht, but if theres anything you can think of please let me know, its much appreciated! Oh another quick one, ive tried the file on 09 also.... same problem. hmmm****scratches head****** Regards Andy Quote
deedee1280 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 hello, i am using autocad architecture 2010 for rendering and having the same problem as you are, "unable to create output file". i've been looking for solution online, but no luck. have u find solution to solve this problem? your help is greatly appreciated. thanks dee Quote
Cad64 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Have you tried rendering on lower quality settings, as I suggested previously. This will help determine if there's a problem with your file or your output settings. Quote
Drafting101 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 To anyone who may still be experiencing this issue, I found a quick solution. I don't know what the source of the problem is, but I do have a quick fix. Select everything in your 3D drawing, *Copyclip* and *Paste* everything in a new drawing file. Now it should render with no issues. I understand this can cause some problems with the finishes of your solids, but it worked great for me. Hope this helps someone out there. Quote
