Im trying to draw electrical conduit in 3d. when I do, it defaults to angles of 30 degrees. I cant even snap to a different degree. I tried shutting off snaps. changing snap angles. i looked in the options window and a few other places and cant find how to shut this off. it works fine in the office. anyone know what i need to do to shut off this setting?

Are you actually working in 3D or in 2D isometric representation of 3D?

type AecbCompass at the command line to edit the Compass Settings. Or I think you can get to it via View > Compass > Compass Settings... From there you can adjust the angles, snaps, etc. Or you can just turn it off completely. Hope this is what you're looking for. :)
