New Dimensions don't match on old drawing

Recommended Posts

I've just had a look at the file you posted.. :) I get the same results as you , +-15'.

DIMSTYLE will not fix your problem... there are no styles attached..

In fact whoever gave you that drawing went out of their way to make it non-user friendly.

- Dimensions have been exploded

- Hatches have been exploded

- No layers

- Everything has been purged, and put on Layer 0

- And the real kicker , the drawing has been scaled.

Firstly I would scale the drawing back to 1:1, find a line of known length (real world), LIST it, use these different numbers to get a scale factor. Be carefule using stated dims, as these may be rounded or even overridden.

Then create a dimstyle that matches the one you want, you might also have to create a textstyle to use in the dimstyle, as there are none on that drawing...

Good luck. :)
