Signs
I have never drawn in 3D before so I can use any hints and info. The sticky in the 3D help forum doesn't seem to be helping me much, as I have absolutely no clue what all of these terms mean. First, does all AutoCAD programs have 3D drawing built in? I'm not sure if AutoCAD LT 2010 has it, but I guess I'm just dumb. And if it does, how do I go from XY view (the usual view we begin with, you know) to bird's eye view, and draw in that view? That would be XZ, right?

JD Mather
What is your field of study? Mechanical? Architectural? Civil? There are free curriculums available for students at http://engineersrule.org There are also free 3D AutoCAD releases on that site.

JD Mather
I'm working on mechanical drawings. As a new user I wouldn't spend much time learing an obsolete technology like AutoCAD for mechanical 3D. Spend your valuable time learing one of the next-generation 3D CAD program like Autodesk Inventor. You are preparing for the future, not studying the history of CAD.
