I'm creating a 3d castle for fun and was wondering how many Polygons my castle has too see if i should scale it down a bit since its starting to get slow to add new things/edit parts that I have done. I know actual 3D modeling programs have this ability but I haven't learned any of them yet so I'm using AutoCAD. I'm using AutoCAD 2010 student version so was wondering if the actual full version had it and the student one doesn't or if AutoCAD does not have this feature at all yet.

Welcome in the forum, Nauticle!

I never did so, but it may work.

Try to explode the solid and count the resulted 3D faces. But don't save the file after the explosion: there is no way back!

Hm I'll try that but that may be a lot of faces too count.... Could it work by importing it into lets say Maya?

Type the command List hit Enter and then hit F1.

BTW Student version and commercial version are functionaly equivalent.

By "count" I did not understood to count it yourself. Select all the geometry and go to the Properties window (in AutoCAD 2006 is CTRL+1). In the top of the window, where it says "All" -in fact there is a drop down list. Expand it and you can see how many objects of each type are selected.
