wastewater Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Ok I am using AutoCAD 2010 and trying to show how using the new Parametric dimensions will help our company. What I am looking for is a way to link the paramaters manager to Excel like you can do in Inventor. Is there a way or has AutoCAD not got that advanced yet? Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 For anyone wanting to pursue designing with parametrics in AutoCAD 2010 this might be a good place to start: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=12724696&linkID=9240615 Quote
wastewater Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Thanks for the info I looked it over and it does look really good. I still have the question is there a way to link the parameters to excel like you can do in Inventor. Nothing shows you can but I was wondering if there was a lisp or vba code to do it. Thanks Quote
Rob-GB Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 http://heidihewett.blogs.com/files/autocad-2010-preview-guide-2.pdf Bottom of page 17 (I think) mentions pasting from excel to Block Properties Table A new Block Table tool has been added to the Block Editor. Accessible from the Dimensional panel of the ribbon, or the BTABLE command, it displays the Block Properties Table where you can define different variations of a property set for the block reference. You can enter properties manually or copy and paste from a Microsoft ® Office Excel® spreadsheet. So maybe it is also possible to do the same with parametric drawings, I'm sure I read something about it the other day but I have read so much lately to try my hand at lisp I am at a loss to say where. Sorry. Quote
