atb1984 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I've got some layers in my drawing with nothing on them. I freeze all except the problem layers, erase all, and find 0 objects. however, when i purge the drawing the layers remain. I'm assuming they are stuck in a block, but there are so many blocks I do not want to go through each one to try and find which block the layers are in. Is there anyway to find where the layers are hiding other than this method? Autodesk MAP 2004 Thanks in advance! Quote
atb1984 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 I used quick select, entire drawing, multiple object type, layer properties, = operator, *layer name* value, include in selection. this returns no selection. Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I run into this on occasion too. First need to check as to what is BASE point for drawing. Then WriteBlock out "everything" to some tempo drawing name. Quit or Close w/o changes. Look at that tempo file. If everything is there that you want, just SAVE-AS or rename to original title. It usually shrinks the file size too. Make sure you did not alter the BASE point position, and whereever the same drawing is used at ought to be good then. Those pesky layers without anything on them ought to be gone too. Wm. Quote

atb1984 Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 This was exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot for the help. I love when I learn these uncommon commands on this forum. Quote
