The Buzzard Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Is there any method by which my valves & Process Lines in P&ID can be numbered automatically using AutoLISP? I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, But check these links, Many choices: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37420 http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35234 http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14938&highlight=automatic+numbering http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11114&highlight=P%26amp%3BID+NUMBERING http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20103 Quote
laison Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 I'm not quote sure. This is what I am looking for. Let's say I am generator a P&ID. Everytime I add a ball valve are a check valve it will automatically number that valve. When I add another of the same type it will give it another consecutive number or something along those lines. Now all vallves come in class ratings, 150#, 300#, 400#, 600# on up. A 150# flanged ball valve id is called as by size, then (A2R). The A = 150#, 2 = ball valve, R = Flanged. So a 6" 150# ball valve's id is 6"-A2R OR 6"A2R. This is already part of the valves which I do not want edited. Quote

I guess you will have to wait it out and see. Quote
CAB Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 How about posting a sample DWG wit a few of your valves. A Before & After would be nice. Saves a lot of guess work! Quote
usglfvet Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Now all vallves come in class ratings, 150#, 300#, 400#, 600# on up. A 150# flanged ball valve id is called as by size, then (A2R). Where do I find the Legend showing these values? 1= ? 2= ball valve 3= ? A=150# B=? C=? Thanx Mac Quote
BlackBox Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Where do I find the Legend showing these values? If not an industry, or application configurable standard, this is usually a naming convention explained in one's plan set legend. I've not used P&ID for production, but from what little I understand of it, it works well with other utility, and process piping based verticals such as Plant 3D, AMEP, etc., so given the vertical nature, methinks this is another Style-based label (without seeing a sample drawing). usglfvet Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I have to decode a P&ID with these on it and without the aid of a front sheet or legend. Was hoping "laison" might have it as it seems he has worked on the same drawings or used this same system convention. Quote
hmsilva Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 usglfvet, it's hard to help without realizing exactly what you need, as CAB wrote, post a sample dwg, with a before & after, without it, we can only guess. Henrique Quote
usglfvet Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Valve N4 is marked 6"A2R A=150# 2=Ballvalve R= Flange connection Valve N2 is marked 4"A11R A=150# 11= what type of valve? R= Flanged connection I need the Legend which has the description of the valves. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151649800992840&set=a.284925012839.148294.565612839&type=1&theater Quote
